Early in his Christian walk, Pastor John Barker had a desire to see the presence and power of God visible and active in our community and Churches. John had a prophetic call to commence a healing ministry to re-ignite the healing ministry of a great healing evalgelist, Rev John Alexander Dowie. Rev Dowie was a minister in the Manly Congregration Church some 80 years ago, and went to establish a ministry that resulted in thousands of people being healing and converts were recorded in the untold millions.
Dowie went on to establish "Healing Homes" and later trained John G. Lake. who established "Healing Rooms" in Spokane Wasshington on which the current Manly Healing Rooms is based on.
Manly Healing Rooms was establised and first opening in January 2006 and has since prayed for hundreds of people.
MHR is overseen by John Barker, a Pastor at Manly Uniting Church.
A team of people lay down a great part of their life to serve those that come for prayer. These people have a call on their life to exercise their various giftings in such a way.
